Secure c3pl contains code to make it extremely secure. The code validates that each user logged in has been allowed access to the customer, warehouse, and web page they are visiting.
• Customer warehouse relationships are created. • Users are added. • options are added - (any page you go to within the site). • Then users are given permission to the customer/warehouse, and option.
Through "preferences" you can turn on and off ip address validation. Status of each user is maintained on the server and will only work through https - the secure flag is set on the cookie preventing non secure sites from attempting to see your cookies. Session IDs are updated on each page load and validated on each page load.
SCO Unix Accuplus® servers we have found to be too insecure to allow any unencrypted, unauthenticated connections from or to the internet. By utilizing ssh we accomplish both of these requirements and are able to pull and push data between web server and SCO Unix Accuplus® servers.
Even if you never intend to use base2co™ software on your systems, we highly and strongly recommend eliminating any unencrypted, unauthenticated connections to and from your SCO Server. Get yourself a copy of SSH - it is available on nearly every hardware platform. Mac OS X.x includes it, Linux includes it, Windows users have many freeware and shareware ssh clients at OpenSSH.com, to get all SSH features you may need to pay a small fee. Also SSH uses encryption that requires you to be a United States Citizen or Business.
